Running or hard walking

Anyone out there runners?…..With gout is hard feet exercises now not feasible? I trying to get more work out on my treadmill but it seems like I have a few good day then a bad day. Is the jarring in the feet causing attacks?

    I have asked EXACTLY the same question..to myrheumatologist,chiropodist,other specialist,g.p. I downhill ski..slalom/VERY aggresively..I’m fit 6′ 200lbs.

Their answers were all the same.. Depending on the stage of the gout.AND any CHANGES indiet/exercise.. With no gout attack..either just finished..or on the horizon..andno uric acid deposits..no changes as in suddenly beginning a regimenof dumping tons of uric acid into the bloodstream..maybe exacerbatedby dehydration, diet change. It is no different than anyone withoutgout.. With gout..anything that irritates..causing white blood cellactivity..these extra/maybe excess white blood cells may not now likeseeing uric acid crystals..and may react. Uric acid deposits can be upset, shaken loose/beginmigrating/crystalizing. Fit of footwear/proper hydration..and avoiding changes in uricacid levels..as well as having no deposits are important. Not uncommon are people changing diet/exercise and ending up onuric acid controlling drugs. The longer you’ve had gout/severity of..and # of attacks damagethe joints/areas and make you more susceptible.

Bottom line here is..if you are on uric acid controllingdrugs, have a good diet,exercise..and have not had a long history ofsevere attacks..then you and I are no different from anyone else inhaving problems with exercise.

These are pretty much their thoughts/words..I agree. They all also feel that a reasoanble diet..even hard exercise arefar better than no exercise..with gout.

    Hope this help
