Vitamin supplements

Has anyone ever heard of vitamin supplements triggeringan attack?

I’ve been taking a lot of care not to eat any trigger foodsrecently (I’m also drinking lots of water and religiouslysticking to my allopurinol scrip). The only dietary changehas been an increase in vitamins to supplement the lackof protein and trace minerals, etc. that many of theaforementioned trigger foods provided me in the past.

Sure enough, the ankle blew up like a weather balloontoday, and I’m hobbled like a one-legged mule. Can’tunderstand it for the life of me. Follow the rules, losethe game… any ideas?

I’ve been taking vitamin supplementsall along, before my gout developed, during attacks, & now, duringremission(?). Maybe the cranberry cherry juice would help you?

that’s just not fair! But then who said gout was. I tookvitamin supplements before I developed gout, during my attacks, & nowwhile I’m in “remission.” I never thought of vitamin supplements asbeing a problem. Hummm. Well, you might try the cranberry/cherryjuice combination. It DOES seem to help me. good luck.

I looked around at the database and found that a trigger is avitamin supplement…….We had heard this before but never talked toanyone who had this problem. So we went and got a multivitamin andafter a few days of taking it my hub had a gout attack. We have alsofound that certain fish make it flare up. His uric acid levels werearound 14 and above and then after starting the Sulfinpyrazone it hasdropped in the past few years down to 5.6 …..He is losing weightalso and working on things to help this. Wondering if anyone wouldknow of the age to get children tested. My 15 year old son has a lotof leg trouble. Never had the redness or anything but he is reallytender and has a lot of pain in them. Been xrayed for arthritis andnothing showing. I know this can hit but not sure on if a Doc will doa blood test or not
