Can allopurinol fail?
I have been on Allopurinol and Diclofenac for 7 months. I still get alot of pain and today, a fairly acute attack. Had to go to the emergencyroom because the General Practitioner refused to see me today.
ER prescribed to CoDydramol to try and bring the pain under control.

It also failed for me, though the attack was milder that without themedication. As far as I understood from my doctor Allopurinol is notfor the pain, but to help your body release more uric acid. Mydoctor switched my medication to colchicine and he told me that if Ifeel any pain I should take indomethacin to ease the pain.
