Heart drugs affecting gout?
My 50 year old partner has suffered from Gout for anumber of years, but has been fairly good atcontrolling it using a combination of diet andgout-maintenance pills.
However, a few weeks ago he was in hospital due to anarythmic heart, and they stuffed him full of a drugcalled flacconide (or something similar) and gave himsome to take for a further 6 weeks. He has been inconstant pain ever since!
I’m convinced that this is due to the drug - hasanybody else had any such expereince?

Not uncommon for heart drugs/procedures to cause gout..THEN theperson ends up on allopurinol.Your partner is on “gout maintenance”drugs..allopurinol..I am assuming?
