New gout drugs..
I just glossed over this info.the other day..don’t know how old itis?..
Uricase..NOT! the animal or plant type..BAD REACTIONS..BUT! asynthetic version. This is on trial and I THINK being used inEurope..I haven’t looked at the FDA info. This COULD be the “silverbullet”..this uricase mixes with uric acid and then they BOTH end upwater soluble.I have NOT really read much about it..tests..but sofar. You got uric acid?Take some “o” this..next day you will havepractically NONE!
Another drug called..can’t remember it or thespelling..Lotarin??..I THINK they have to give this by injection..
Oxypurinol..I THINK this is the active ingredient in allopurinolbut some that can’t take allo can take oxy..

if you do end up developing an intolerance to allopurinol, anything with the same active ingredient will also be the sameintolerance.

You can post what you like about eating properly and exercising, although exercize for someone with real gout is problematical atbest. However, and I know Arnold knows it already, your statement isjust not correct. It is true that it is possible that the activeingredient may have the same negative effect on a person but it isjust as likely, actually more likely, that the mechanism ofintolerance has nothing at all to do with the method of action of thedrug.
In other words, a drug in its native form can become persona nongratta to your system as an allergin and yet the breakdown product ofthat drug may actually be the active ingredient that gives you theactivity that you need and you may tolerate the active ingredientcompletely and with no side effects. The reasons why a person isintolerant of a specific drug can be, and more often than notactually do not have anything to do with, the specific activity forwhich the drug is being taken. There are literally thousands ofexamples of this and the drug industry has proven this over and overand over.
