If I thought you wouldread it I would provide the detailed chemitry analysis that provesit, the extensive double blind test groups and the absolutelyunquestioned statistical information that proves, beyond any marginfor error, that allopurinol works, how it works and that unless youare either not a mammal-for it works on all mammals-dogs, rats,horses-yes horses get gout too- or perhaps if you are not human andhave a different biological evolution it might not work on you but inall human cases testedn it absolutely stops, inhibits, makes go away,the breakdown process that leads to uric acid.

Maybe you should learn to read, Never said that, I said that peoplewith serum urate levels as low as 4 can suffer from gout.Do you even know the difference between the level of uric acid youhave in your body and the level of urate you have in your blood. Arethey the same thing. Have you eveh had your body level of uric acidmeasured. Do you konw what that level is?

The chemical that we call allopurinol does not occur naturally. It isa homolog of many other chemicals that do occur naturally.

I do claim that based on yourstatements, you are very ignorant about the biochemistry ofmetabolism, specifically the breakdown of DNA and RNA into uric acidand morespecifically what allopurinol does and why it helps us dealwith our damaged systems.

If memory serves me you have an autistic daughter and you and otherpeople close toyou are suggesting that perhaps heavy metalcontamination plays a role in the condition. I neither argued withyou nor do I believe that the argument or discussion is withoutmerit. My sister believes that her daughter, who also suffers from aform of autism caused by a near drowning when she was three, is alsoterribly sensitive to the mercury amalgam that she has in her teethand my sisteh has had all the amalgam fillings removed. She and mymom both believe that there has been a marked improvement in hercognitive ability since the fillings were replaced with the porcelainpaste fillings.

The lady who discovered and in fact pioneered the use of allpurinolwasn’t even looking for a cure for gout. She was trying to find away to mitigate the terrible overload of uric acid that cancerpatients get when radiation therapy destroyes a large mass of atumor. We should actually name this group after her and by the way,she won the Nobel prize for that work and she was not working for adrug company when she did it. If you would spend 1/4 of the energyyou spend fretting about statements that I have made and use thatenergy to read what is in the literature about allopurinol, you mightmitigate your anger. Do you konw why allopurinol is so cheap, that islow in cost? Interesting story. And by the way, the drug companiesactually don’t, didn’t want to produce it because they didn’t havethe patent rights to it.

Get your facts strait and perhaps get your temper and outlookrealigned. I really don’t care, as you suggest, whether you ever takeallopurinol or not. I do care about things that you write that areclearly wrong and that can and probably do influence peopleimproperly.

We are making the source of the problem go away and no one is healedfrom allopurinol, they are just allowed to reduce their excess uricacid, gradually over several years without having to suffer theravages of severe gout attacks.

My guess, from what you write, is that you really don’t have gout,never have and don’t even know from personal experience, just howpainful it is and how debilitating and damaging it is. It will robyou of your mobility, your self respect and in all to many cases itcan and will ruin your life. You will in all likelyhood lose yourjob, the love of your family, and your own sense that you are animportant and worthwhile person because with constant gout attacks,even a saint, is reduced to something less than human.

Go and find us a better way but please, when you do find it, andbring it to us, try to have some specifics on what that better way isand, it might help to suggest why you believe it works. Some of usare data driven and you don’t present much data.
